In Nagpur, the biting cold persisted through the day, forcing residents to bundle up in sweaters, shawls, and jackets. Morning walkers, cyclists, and vendors were seen seeking warmth with hot tea and bonfires at several spots across the city. Despite bright sunshine, the chill remained noticeable until late afternoon.

IMD confirmed that dry weather prevailed across Vidarbha, with minimum temperatures “appreciably below normal.” Nagpur’s temperature has been dropping steadily over the past few days, with Sunday’s 8.5°C becoming the lowest of the season so far.

With skies expected to remain clear through the coming week, weather experts predict that the cold wave will continue. IMD has forecast that Nagpur’s minimum temperature will hover near 10°C or fall below, while eastern Vidarbha districts will continue to experience harsh early morning conditions.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in Wardha, Bhandara, and Gondia for Monday. All Vidarbha districts are expected to witness dry weather over the next seven days, with no major change in minimum temperatures anticipated.

Local authorities have advised senior citizens and children to take precautions, while healthcare workers have warned against sudden exposure to cold and early-morning outdoor activities.

Winter has officially arrived in Nagpur, sharper, earlier, and colder than expected.
