Nagpur: Police have seized banned gutkha and pan masala worth ₹95,776 during a raid at Heera Pan Palace in the Satnami Nagar Chowk area of Lakadganj.
The action was carried out by the escort squad of Nagpur Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil following information about the sale of gutkha and pan masala prohibited in Maharashtra.

According to police, Escort Squad in-charge API Bhagwan Koli and his team were patrolling the area when they received information that banned gutkha and pan masala were being sold at Heera Pan Palace. After verifying the information, the team conducted a search of the shop in the presence of Lakadganj police night patrol officer Sonal Shinde and panch witnesses.
During the search, police recovered banned flavoured pan masala and gutkha worth ₹89,146, including packets of Vimal, Rajshree, Pan Parag, Baba Navratan and Rajnigandha.
Police also seized banned cigarettes and ₹16,630 in cash, taking the total value of the seized material to approximately ₹95,776.
A case has been registered at Lakadganj Police Station against 25-year-old Badal Motilal Katoke, a resident of Bharatwada, Punapur, Pardi, based on a complaint filed by an officer of the Food and Drug Administration.
The action was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil by API Bhagwan Koli and his team.
