Nagpur: Police officers and personnel who carried out outstanding investigations and effective court follow-up were honoured at the Nagpur City Police Commissionerate. The commendation certificates were presented by Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil at a programme held at Police Bhavan.
Police had arrested accused allegedly armed with illegal weapons in an attempt-to-murder case within the jurisdiction of Pachpaoli Police Station. During the investigation, action was taken against the accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Police Inspector Aniruddha Puri, Assistant Police Inspector Pramod Sonawane, Police Sub-Inspector Ranjit Majgaonkar, Police Head Constable Ankush Rathod and Police Constable Ashish Bawankar were honoured for this notable achievement.
Meanwhile, effective court follow-up by the MIDC Police Station resulted in the conviction of the accused in a case, with the court sentencing them to life imprisonment. Police Head Constables Nitin Shirsath and Gurudas Tadpalliwar were presented with commendation certificates for their work.
