Nagpur Police Commissioner Launches “Balbiradari” Initiative to Empower Underprivileged Youth

Nagpur: Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal has initiated the “Balbiradari” program, aimed at providing opportunities in arts, sports, music, and dance to children and youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This initiative focuses on nurturing the hidden talents of these children and offering them equal opportunities to showcase their abilities.

Throughout his service in various parts of the state, Commissioner Singal has successfully implemented the “Balbiradari” cultural and sports program, receiving widespread positive response. In Nagpur, he has continued this effort, aiming to reduce instability in the city by promoting cultural activities.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, Commissioner Singal organized dance groups, trained at various locations in the city. The Rainbow Foundation and Cyclone Dance Academy, along with teachers from municipal schools and social workers, assisted in forming these dance groups from underprivileged areas and slums.

These groups performed a patriotic group dance at the main government cultural event of the Nagpur division, held on August 15, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Auditorium in Civil Lines. Schools participating in the performance included Jawaharlal Nehru Vidyalaya (Jagdish Nagar), R.B.G.G. Vidyalaya (Bijli Nagar), and Makaradhokda Municipal Hindi School, among others.

The event was attended by Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal, Senior Police Inspectors Manish Thakre and Vinod Tiwari, Primary Education Officer Siddheshwar Kalushe, and prominent figures from Nagpur’s heritage, environmental, and cultural sectors.
