Nagpur: Ahead of Raksha Bandhan, Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha organised its annual ‘Rakhis for Soldiers’ programme to honour the courage, sacrifice and dedication of armed forces personnel guarding the nation’s borders.
The programme was held at Banyan Hall, Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur, where participants expressed their gratitude to soldiers through specially prepared Rakhis. The event witnessed a strong patriotic spirit, with the organisers paying tribute to the personnel who remain away from their families while performing their duties.
Lieutenant Colonel Sujit Bais, Postal Officer, Army Postal Service, and Flight Lieutenant Shivali Deshpande, Secretary of Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha, were among those present. Representatives and office-bearers of various social organisations also attended the programme.
The organisers said the initiative was aimed at strengthening the emotional bond between citizens and soldiers and conveying the message that the sacrifices of the armed forces are remembered and valued by people across the country.
