Nagpur: A seemingly minor dispute at a tarri poha stall in Bharatwada escalated into a fatal clash on Sunday morning, leaving a 27-year-old man dead and another injured. The incident, which occurred under the jurisdiction of Kalamna Police Station, has led to the registration of a murder case against seven accused.

The deceased has been identified as Yogesh Sahu (27), a resident of the area. According to police, Yogesh, his brother Lokesh, and a few friends had stopped at a tarri poha stall after unloading a sand cart when an argument broke out with another customer.

Police said the dispute reportedly started after a man identified as Mangesh Rahangdale accused Yogesh of splashing water on him. The verbal exchange soon turned into a physical altercation before the two groups separated.

Investigators said Yogesh and his companions allegedly attempted to take Rahangdale to Kalamna Police Station to file a complaint. However, he managed to escape and ran towards a nearby residential locality, where the situation intensified as more people joined the confrontation.

During the clash, members of two local families allegedly assaulted Yogesh and his brother. Police allege that one of the accused brought a knife from his residence and attacked Yogesh multiple times. Lokesh was also injured while trying to intervene and save his brother.

Both injured men were rushed to hospital for treatment. Yogesh was later shifted to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Lokesh sustained injuries to his arm and is currently undergoing treatment.

Following the incident, Kalamna Police registered a murder case against seven individuals and launched a detailed investigation. Authorities have recorded statements of witnesses and are examining CCTV footage from the area.

The shocking killing has created tension in Bharatwada, prompting police to increase security and maintain law and order. Officials have appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation.

The incident has once again raised concerns about how minor disputes can quickly escalate into serious violence, leading to tragic consequences.
