Nagpur Metro extends services to midnight for India-New Zealand T20 on Jan 21

Nagpur: Cricket fever is set to take over Nagpur on January 21 as India faces New Zealand in a T20 international at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium, Jamtha. To ensure fans enjoy the match without worrying about traffic, Nagpur Metro has announced special arrangements, extending its last service until midnight, with the possibility of running later if required.

A joint planning meeting between Nagpur Metro officials and representatives of the VCA was held to streamline transportation for the thousands of cricket enthusiasts expected to attend. Metro trains on the Aqua Line will run at a 10-minute frequency, ensuring smooth travel to and from the stadium.

Anil Kokate, Director of Strategic Planning, and Sanjay Badkas, Secretary of VCA, along with other officials, discussed measures to ease traffic congestion on Wardha Road. In addition to extended metro services, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) feeder buses will operate from Khapri Metro Station to Jamtha Stadium. Distances are convenient for fans: just 6 km from Khapri and 7 km from New Airport Metro Station.

After the match, additional NMC buses will transport fans back from both metro stations, ensuring a safe and hassle-free journey. With these measures in place, Nagpur Metro is gearing up to make the India-New Zealand T20 not just a thrilling match on the field, but a seamless experience for fans travelling to Jamtha.
