The incident occurred during the birthday celebration of Shashidhar Tiwari, a member of the Uddhav faction of Yuva Sena. Saurabh Sanjay Rannanvare (26), the victim, had attended the party, where a dispute arose after he objected to the loud fireworks being set off late at night. Though the initial disagreement was settled, the attackers later confronted Saurabh outside his home at around 1:30 AM, forced him into their car’s trunk, and took him to a quarry near Kuhi Fata.

At the quarry, the attackers brutally assaulted Saurabh. Pritam Kapse allegedly injured him with a knife and threatened him with a gun. After repeatedly pleading for his life, Saurabh was finally released around 4 AM.

The incident came to light when Saurabh’s friends and relatives realized he had been kidnapped and informed the police. Saurabh, injured but alive, managed to reach the Wathoda police station, where he filed a complaint. The police have registered a case under various sections of the law and are continuing their search for the remaining suspects.
