Nagpur: Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari who had come to grace the 55th Establishment Day celebrations of Nagpur Nagrik Sahakari Bank said that Nagpur is the centre of Nation. Vice-President Ansari started his speech by saying that Nagpur is the central point of the nation. He was referring to the Zero Mile Stone and said this monument exists from British era in Nagpur. He added that the zero mile has shifted from its own position, but still Nagpur is the geographical centre of India.
The Vice President did not make this mention of Nagpur being the centre of the nation while speaking out of the prewritten speech for nothing. In fact he was pointing out the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh and its influence in Political scenario in the nation today.
Nitin Gadkari and Hansraj Ahir who were seated at the dais burst out laughing at the statement made by the Vice President. This is because even the Vice President know that whatever is happening in the nation today is controlled by Nagpur. On the pretext of Zero Mile, he mentioned a very big fact. After that, in order to make the situation light, he also praised the oranges from Nagpur too.
