
Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Nagpur Crime Branch has taken action against a 23-year-old man for allegedly possessing an illegal firearm in the Gittikhadan Police Station area.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team conducted a search near Durgamata Temple, behind Ramdev Baba Tekdi in Yogendra Nagar, on Tuesday night. The suspect was detained and searched in the presence of two panch witnesses.
During the search, police allegedly recovered a country-made firearm valued at around ₹25,000 and one live cartridge from his possession. A mobile phone, reportedly an iPhone 13 worth around ₹50,000, was also seized.
The total value of the seized property has been estimated at approximately ₹76,000.
Police identified the accused as Aman Gupta. The accused and the seized material were handed over to the Gittikhadan Police for further legal action.
A case has been registered against Gupta under the relevant provisions of the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway.
