Nagpur: In the Nandanvan area, a fuel pump faced an unexpected shutdown after numerous complaints from customers that their vehicles stopped running shortly after refueling. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the petrol tanks contained more water than fuel.
Despite the heavy rain, many customers had visited the pump to refuel their vehicles. Soon after filling up, their vehicles stalled, prompting visits to mechanics who found the tanks filled with water. Angry customers returned to the pump with bottles of water extracted from their fuel tanks to lodge complaints.
The incident occurred amidst heavy rainfall, which had already disrupted life in Nagpur. Water had infiltrated the fuel storage tanks at the pump in Nandanvan. As more and more customers reported similar issues, a crowd formed, leading to the immediate closure of the petrol pump.
The pump, typically busy during morning hours, saw a surge of complaints on this particular rainy day. To address the situation, the pump management halted fuel distribution, blocked the entrance with ropes, and began addressing the issue. In a notable response, the pump’s management listened to each customer and agreed to refund the money based on their claims. Additionally, they covered the costs of repairs and the petrol for vehicles affected by the water contamination.
