Nagpur District Planning Committee gives boost to development of various projects

The crucial meeting of Nagpur District Planning Committee was held in Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall on Monday (June 30). Guardian Minister Shivajirao Moghe presided over the meeting. Other dignitaries who attended the meeting include Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh, Water Resources and EGS Minister Nitin Raut, Minister of State for Finance and Planning Rajendra Mulak, MLAs Sunil Kedar, Ashish Jaiswal, Sudhakar Deshmukh, Sudhir Parve, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Vijay Ghodmare, Krushna Khopde, Dinanath Padole, MLCs Nago Ganar, Prakash Gajbhiye, Zilla Parishad Vice President Chandrashekhar Chikhale, Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar, Chief Executive Officer Shivajirao Jondhale, Additional Commissioner (Tribal Development) Dr Pallavi Darade, NMC’s Additional Commissioner Hemant Pawar, Members of District Planning Committee and senior officials of various departments.

District Collector Abhishek Krishna made the introductory remarks while District Planning Officer Krishna Firke conducted the meeting.

The meeting mainly approved the funds spent on various schemes till March 2014. A total of Rs 330.85 crore spent on various schemes like general, sub-schemes meant for scheduled castes, sub-schemes meant for tribals, and OTPS scheme including MHADA were approved. Similarly, the meeting reviewed the progress of various schemes being undertaken in the financial year 2014-15.

A provision of Rs 5 crore has been made for construction of Niyojan Bhavan at District-level in accordance with directive issued by Deputy Chief Minister during the State-level meeting of District Planning Committees held on January 25, 2014. The members of the meeting demanded providing of school uniforms to poor and backward class students of Zilla Parishad’s primary schools, starting of Taluqa-level competitive exam centers, basic facilities in the areas situated on 20 acres of zudpi-jungle, extending of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana and Shravanbal Yojana to more beneficiaries, compensation to hailstorm-affected persons who have still not received the amount.

Moghe reviews development projects:

The Guardian Minister Shivajirao Moghe reviewed various development projects undergoing in Nagpur like Ramjhula, Matang Samaj Hall, Girls’ Hostels, Vasantrao Naik Memorial Hall, Niyojan Bhavan and other projects. Present on the occasion include MLC Prakash Gajbhiye, Divisional Commissioner Anoop Kumar, District Collector Abhishek Krishna, Resident Deputy Collector Pravin Mahajan, Revenue Deputy Collector J P Sangitrao, Executive Engineer P D Navghare, and NMC officials.
