Nagpur: A shocking murder has been reported from the Kalamna area of Nagpur, where a 27-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death late Thursday night, allegedly due to an old rivalry. The incident took place at Madni Chowk in the Wanjra locality, triggering panic among residents.
The deceased has been identified as Roshan Dharmasingh Uike (27). According to police, Roshan was sitting at the चौक in an intoxicated state when the main accused, Javed alias Shakeel Ansari, arrived at the spot along with his associates.
Fueled by a long-standing dispute, the group allegedly attacked Roshan with knives, stabbing him multiple times. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police sources revealed that Roshan and Javed had an altercation around a year ago, and tensions between them had continued since then. Just three days prior to the incident, Roshan had allegedly assaulted Javed and issued death threats, which is believed to have triggered the fatal attack.
Acting swiftly, Kalamna Police reviewed CCTV footage from the area and arrested the main accused, Javed. However, three other accused — Sahwaj Khan, Salman, and Sultan — are currently absconding, and a search operation is underway.
It has also come to light that Javed has a prior murder case registered against him. Further investigation is ongoing.
