Nagpur: The Nagpur division of Central Railway (CR) collected Rs 2.82 crore during a special ticket checking drive recently.
From April 1 to May 30, as many as 60,844 cases of improper tickets were found and Rs 2.82 crore was collected from users as fine, a release from Central Railway, Nagpur division, said here.
Same period during last year, 56,739 cases were detected and a revenue of Rs 2.58 crore was collected, it said.
About 6,108 cases of luggage without proper payment was also noticed and Rs 7.94 lakh was collected as against 4,782 cases and Rs 6.22 lakh during the same period last year.
Cases of travelling without ticket to the tune of Rs 15,006 was detected and Rs 82.31 lakh was recovered from the erring users between April 1 to May 30. During same period last year 8,552 cases and Rs 49.25 lakh was collected, the release added.
