Nagpur:
Eid can never be so tempting, especially when you crave for hot piping sheerkhurma (vermicelli soaked in milk) loaded with all the dry fruits, followed by the delicious bites of biryani! Yes, as the city goes in for Eid celebrations with cheers and gusto, rains turned up in the city’s dry and barren scapes to give a drizzling Eidi (an Eid gift usually exchanged among community people) to one and all!

While the Muslims across the city gather to mark the solidarity and offer ‘namaz’ to the almighlty, rains follwed without fail. Here we say ‘without fail’ as we hope you understand how rains have been playing hide and seek for over last fortnight, hovering the clouds of uncertainty.

Finally it poured out! And what a day it has chosen to begin the season’s first full fledged rains, Community people along with hordes of Hindus wish their mates a tempting Eid Mubarak and exchanged pleasantries.

The markets at Mominpura were filled with all the savouries you can binge on – pheny, sheermaal, dry fruits, especially dates, khaaja and variety of other sweetmeats.

The city sported a wet look to welcome Eid amid the drizzles coupled with heavy bouts of downpour.

The MET office has predicted heavy rains for the next 5 days as entire Vidarbha has been surrouned by dense monsoon clouds.

As the festivities continue, Muslim brethrens remained engaged in inviting and wishing their family, friends and near and dear ones.

Mominpura area truely exuded the spirit of festival as the aroma of biryani, shami kebab and mutton mughlai whiffed across the households and eateries.
