Nagpur bizman Prafulla Gadge, family survive road accident on Indore-Nagpur highway

praful-gadgeNagpur: City Businessman and Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Vatsalya Group Prafull Gadge and his family had a narrow escape on Tuesday afternoon when their Jaguar car was hit by another of their Fortuner SUV in village Sanavad on Indore-Nagpur highway. The driver of Jaguar was intercepted by a herd of sheep crossing the road and he tried to apply the brakes which eventually led to the collision. The family members including Gadge, his wife Kalpana, son in law Dr Rajan Pandey and his wife Mayuri received minor injuries, however Fortuner got damaged in the accident.

Dr. Rajan Pandey who also writes column for Nagpur Today and other key publications told NT, “We were on our way to Nagpur from Omkareshwar after leaving from Indore on Tuesday. Our Jaguar was being followed by Fortuner. On Tuesday at around 3 pm, suddenly the sheep came in our way in village Sanavad and the driver tried to force stop the vehicle. As our Jaguar screeched to a halt, the Fortuner hit the car from the rear side. Fortunately, none of us got any major injuries.”

WhatsApp-Image-20160615 (2)He informed that Prafulla gadge was sitting with his associates in Jaguar. Dr Rajan Pandey was sitting with rest of family in Fortuner and another car with body guards and staff was behind the two mentioned vehicles.

He said that airbags of both the vehicles popped up immediately after the accident. Meanwhile, he added, the villagers gathered at the spot and tried to create the scene. They were demanding compensation for their injured sheep. “However we took the help of local police as the sheep, though injured, was very much alive. Eventually we eased out the situation and proceeded with our journey. We had to take Fortuner to the local garage as it was not good enough to be driven. The vehicle joined us back in half an hour.

All the family members reached Nagpur at 3 am on Wednesday.
