Nagpur: In the early hours of Sunday, around 12:30 AM, an Audi car driven by a drunk driver crashed into four to five vehicles, including a two-wheeler, in Nagpur. The collision was so severe that it left the damaged vehicles in pieces.
Initially, it was reported that the accident involved the son of a prominent political leader. There were rumors that the car was being driven by the son of BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Sanket Bawankule. However, Senior Police Inspector Chandrakant Chkate of the Sitabuldi Police Station clarified that the Audi was being driven by Bawankule’s driver, Arjun Jitendra Hawre, aged 24. Hawre was accompanied by his friend, Ronit Chintamwar, aged 27.
The accident, which occurred from Kachipura to Centre Point Hotel Lokmat Chowk, created a commotion in the area. The car also reportedly collided with a two-wheeler at RBI Chowk. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The luxury white Audi was reportedly speeding at nearly 150 km/h. The Sitabuldi Police have filed a case, taken the driver into custody, and are questioning eyewitnesses. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
