Mystery Deepens After Two Youths Die on Railway Track

Nagpur: In a deeply tragic and horrifying incident, two unidentified youths lost their lives after allegedly coming in front of a speeding train near the Ujjwal Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Sonegaon Police Station in Nagpur on Saturday night. The gruesome condition of the bodies left police shaken and has complicated efforts to establish the identities of the deceased.

According to police, the incident took place around 9.30 pm on the busy Nagpur-Wardha railway route when Delhi-bound Kerala Express passed through the area at high speed. Railway authorities informed police after the train crew alerted the control room that two persons had allegedly come in front of the moving train.

A lineman and railway staff rushed to the spot after receiving the alert, while a team from Sonegaon Police Station reached the railway track near Wardha Road in Ujjwal Nagar shortly afterwards.

Police described the scene as extremely disturbing. One of the youths, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, was allegedly run over in such a horrific manner that his body was severed into multiple pieces. Body parts, including the head, hands, and legs, were found scattered across the railway track, forcing police personnel to painstakingly collect the remains.

The second youth, estimated to be around 25 years old, was found nearly 10 to 15 metres away from the first body. His face was severely mutilated and disfigured beyond recognition. Even the clothes worn by the two deceased were torn apart, leaving investigators with almost no immediate clues about their identities.

Police officials said the intensity of the impact indicated that the youths may have deliberately chosen the fast-moving express train to end their lives. Mail and express trains on the Nagpur-Wardha section usually travel at considerable speed, making survival virtually impossible in such circumstances.

Meanwhile, another account being examined by investigators suggests that the two men may have fallen from the moving Kerala Express on the down line under Sonegaon police station limits. The bodies were reportedly first noticed by local trackman Jagdish Kambdi, who immediately alerted authorities.

An accidental death case has been registered, while investigators suspect suicide as a possible angle. However, police said all possibilities are being examined until the exact sequence of events is confirmed.

The bodies have been sent to AIIMS Nagpur for post-mortem examination and identification. Police are now scanning recent missing person reports from Nagpur and nearby districts in an attempt to identify the deceased youths.

Sonegaon police have appealed to citizens that anyone having information regarding the two unidentified youths should contact the police immediately. Further investigation is underway.
