Indian Air Force, a dynamic organisation, is looked up by civil population of Nagpur for its professionalism, precision and is held in high esteem. Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur has been organizing numerous activities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility. In order to further this objective of social responsibility and image building and to create better cohesion with population of Nagpur, a musical concert is being organized by the Maintenance Command, Nagpur. The concert will be presented by No. 5 Air Force band at Futala Lake on 03 May 2014 from 6pm to 7pm. The objective of this event is to enhance the image of Indian Air Force in general and Maintenance Command in particular. It also serves the purpose of publicity campaign which is undertaken by Indian Air Force through Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra (AWSO).
Air Marshal P Kanakraj Ati Vishisht Seva Medal Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, Nagpur will be the Chief Guest of the occasion. All Senior Officers of Maintenance Command Nagpur and various civil dignitaries of Nagpur City will be present during the concert.
On arrival of the chief guest, the Air Force Band will play Fan Fare followed by introductory talk about the Band and its tunes. Thereafter, martial tunes will be played. Through military tunes, the concert is expected to instill sense of patriotism and the conventional Indian and Western film songs to enthrall and entertain the citizens of Nagpur.
From the medieval times, accompaniment of war drums injected passion and inspired forces to march forward with gusto and helped in promoting pride and develops camaraderie among armed forces. The existence of martial music, which has a rich and deep rooted traditions, has to a large extend remained confined within the environment of the armed forces itself. However, the military bands have often performed in front of the civilian audience in the past, which has been highly appreciated. Military band enliven the spirit, strengthen the mood and help in promoting pride and nationalism among the citizens of the country. Also, the musical concert is aimed to showcase the IAF among the citizens of Napgur, particularly the youth and motivating them to choose IAF as the career option.
