Nagpur: Raj Yadav, who allegedly killed his wife Chandrakala and dumped her body in an overhead tank of Sulabh Complex at Traffic Park in Dharampeth, has been sent to police custody remand till September 10.

The couple used to live and work at the public toilet as cleaner and caretaker. On Saturday night they got into an argument under the influence of alcohol. After few hours Yadav allegedly pulled Chandrakala’s hair and thrashed her with a bamboo. Yadav then took Chandrakala to the first floor of the building, where they used to live in a room.

However, Chandrakala died after some time. The accused then put the body in a gunny bag and dropped it in the water tank.

The murder came to light when one of the workers at the public toilet went to check the tank as the supply was blocked. Soon, Sitabuldi police was alerted, leading to arrest of Yadav.
