Mumbai/Nagpur: Mumbai police assure protection during the release of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film is releasing over the Diwali weekend.

Fox Star, one of the producers of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, met the Mumbai police commissioner seeking protection ahead of the film’s release. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI), after a meeting on October 14, has decided not to screen any film starring Pakistani artistes. This applies to single-screen theatres in four states — Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Pakistani star Fawad Khan in a pivotal role and will be the first such film to hit the theatres after the escalated tension between the two countries in the aftermath of Uri attack. Details awaited.
