Muggers who looted young girl arrested

Nagpur: In another case of mugging which occurred on February 6, 2015, between 2:30 pm to 3:10 pm, when the victim a 19-year-old girl was going on her bicycle, two accused came from the rear and snatched the shoulder bag.

According to police sources, the victim Neelam Gyaneshwar Rokde aged 19 years and a resident of Plot No 62, Near Shiv Shakti Mandir was going on her bicycle. At around 2:30 pm to 3:10 pm, on public road, near Rammanohar Lohia Library, the two accused identified as 1) Shubham Bhimsen Gaikwad aged 22 years and a resident of Barse Nagar and 2) Prakash Ramchandra Gaur aged 21 years and a resident of Panchpaoli Thakargram came from the rear and snatched the shoulder black coloured-bag hung on her shoulders. The bag contained a Silver Ring, Mobile Phone and Cash of Rs 150/- collectively worth Rs 2450/-.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim, Police Sub Inspector Gaikwad of Panchpaoli Police Station registered a case under sections 392 and 34 of Indian Penal Code and started his investigation. He soon succeeded in apprehending the accused too.
