Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has planned to take a 12-hours hour shutdown (from 10 am to 10 pm) at Kanhan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) on August 8, during which state power distribution company MSEDCL is planning to connect the much awaited ‘Express feeder new 6.6 KV’ with “metering cubicle” and connect the same to the Kanhan WTP Plant panel. MSEDCL is also planning to do some additional work on 33 KV line during this shutdown period.

Following 12-hours shutdown at Kanhan WTP, many localities from North, East and parts of South Nagpur that receives water supply from 16 Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESR’s) will not receive any water supply. The shutdown will start on Aug 8, after morning hour’s water supply. Further these localities will receive low pressure water supply on August 9.

The 16 ESR’s to be affected due to shut down are: Nara, Nari, Jaripatka, Bazonbagh, Indora-II, Mahendra Nagar, Wanjari, Shanti Nagar, Kalamana, Minimata Nagar, Subhan Nagar, Lakadganj, Bharatwadi, Nandanvan, Dighori, and Sakkardara ESR etc.

During the shutdown period water supply through ‘Tankers’ will also be not possible.

As there will be no water supply to these 16 ESR’s which are directly connected with Kanhan WTP, NMC & OCW appealed citizens to store sufficient water for their use and co-operate with NMC and OCW.
