Nagpur: The wait is not over for us in Nagpur it seems… after showing ‘trailers’ twice in the last two weeks, rains have just vanished from the city’s skyscapes!
It has been raining sporadically in some areas for brief spells, but leaving rest of the city high and dry.
For instance there was an hour of heavy rainfall on Saturday in Sadar area right up to Korhadi. And then the sun came out again, bright and hot.
Now the MET department is forecasting that ‘official monsoons’ will begin in Vidarbha only on Thursday, 22nd June.
A low depression area has been created in North India due to which monsoon clouds are gradually moving northwards from Konkan, Gujarat etc. but they are taking their own sweet time it seems.
Rains have begun in Valsad area of Gujarat and Nasik in Maharashtra. Even Buldhana and Yawatmal have been obliged with rains so far. Konkan is being drenched with regular rains…
North Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar may see rain falls only after 2 – 3 days.
But there could definitely be a Sight and Sound show over our skies also later today. Clouds will gather, there could be lightening also, and then strong winds will blow the clouds away.
Sounds familiar??
