In what could be termed as daring daylight act of felony, three criminals attacked the owner of mobile shop situated in Electronic Market in Sitabuldi area on March 7, 2015.
According to police sources and owners of other shops in that area, the accused attempted to murder the owner of Hello World, Mobile Shop situated in Electronic Market, Telipura, Sitabuldi identified as Bharat Brijesh Khatwani aged 52 years and a resident of Jaripatka area. The incident occurred at 4:02 pm on March 7, 2015. Police sources said that three unidentified accused had come from the rear entrance of the shop and after stabbing the victim at least more than 5-6 times with sharp edged weapons, escaped through the same path in which they came.
Some of owners of neighboring shops claimed that Bharat Khatwani has been attacked on two occasions previously too. One incident happened one year ago.
After 5 minutes of the incident, the neighboring shop owners noticed him and rushed him to Suretech Hospital for treatment.
Till the time of filling the story, the police were still completing the necessary formalities and trying to piece in the modus operandi.
Meanwhile Nagpur Today spoke to the attending Doctor of Suretech Hospital. According to Dr Deepak Deshmukh of Suretech Hospital, the victim has sustained more than 5-6 deep injuries to his torso and neck. There has been severe bleeding and has been rushed to the operation theatre. Only after the operation can one ascertain if any major and vital organs have been ruptured in the knife attack.
