Nagpur:Members of the Minority Cell of the Congress Committee recently met with District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, urging him to facilitate the release of the body of truck driver Mehboob Chhote Khan, which has been held at the Forensic Laboratory for the past six months, to his grieving family.

Mehboob Khan had gone missing on August 8 of the previous year. Twelve days later, his body was discovered at old Katol Naka. Following identification by his family members, the body underwent autopsy at Mayo Hospital. Despite plans for his relatives to claim the body for final rites, it was unexpectedly transferred to Government Medical College & Hospital. Subsequently, the body was sent to the Forensic Laboratory for DNA testing, where it has remained unclaimed for six months.

Dr. Itankar assured the delegation that he would address the matter promptly by consulting with the Commissioner of Police. Led by Waseem Khan, the delegation included Raman Kalwale, General Secretary John Thomas, City Congress Committee General Secretary Rajabhau Chilate, Asif Bhai, Jishan Khan, Satish Sakhare, Firoz Khan, Danish Baba, and Mohit Pakhale.
