The Canvas Fire 4G features a 4.5-inch display and is powered by a 1GHz MTK6735 quad core processor. The device gets 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage and a 1850 mAh battery completes the package. The device is priced at Rs 6,999.

Commenting on the new launches, Shubhajit Sen, CMO, Micromax Informatics, said, “With the roll out of the 4G networks across 296 cities and more cities by December this year, we expect this to surge a shift from 3G to 4G as well 2G to 4G in under-penetrated markets. Our 4G smartphone launches are well timed with the 4G technology evolution and roll-out to ensure our consumers use mobile internet for not just entertainment but also for work while at home or on the go. Over the due course of time our entire Canvas range of smartphones will be upgraded to 4G.”

The Canvas Play 4G sports a 5.5-inc HD IPS display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, the smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The 16GB model is priced at Rs 12,499.

With the consumer demand constantly shifting towards faster internet speed and seamless connectivity, Micromax now has a portfolio of 6 devices in less than three months. All three devices run Android Lollipop.

Sen further added, “We would want to stay true to brand’s positioning of ‘Democratizing Technology’ and help in ‘Massification of 4G’ providing the access of 4G to all with our range of smartphones starting INR 6999 to 10999. We are further looking to expand our LTE range and will be launching 5 to 6 more 4G enabled smartphones at various price points by the end of 2015 leveraging both online and offline channels”.
