With the advancement in the communication, establishing, maintaining and ending friendship seems to have become an easier job. Mobiles and Computers help us trace our old classmates and mobiles help us to stay connected. A former student of Bishop Cotton School Ankesh Kamdar had an urge to meet all his old classmates, so he created a group on social networking sites and searched for his old classmates and friends of Bishop Cotton School-1999 batch.
Ankesh Kamdar and other friends including Vipsha Chachra, Navdeep Garg , Sunil Acharya , Tariq Parekh, Dev Pandhi, Hardip Bhatia, Sarabjeet Oberoy, Ritesh Golcha took it to another level and before long they were in the process of planning a reunion of old classmates. The old classmates planned to hold the reunion at a city hostel-Ice Lounge.
Former-Cottonians had strived to make the Reunion Bash a memorable one. They ensured that all the batch/classmates could make it to this bash from all over the country.
As one grows, the physical appearances also undergo a sea of change. Often one cannot even recognize who they are and how they looked during childhood. So the organizers kicked off the party with the old classmates introducing themselves and what they are doing now. Since they were all meeting each other after sixteen long years they had a lot of catching up to do. After the usual poking fun at each other and how they looked in their childhood and the pranks and antics they did in the class-room, all of them hit the dance floor and shook a leg or two to the tunes of Bollywood songs of the late 90’s and 80’s belted out by the Disc Jockey.
The Former-Cottonians revisited their old school and reminisced their childhood memories after their reunion bash. They enjoyed some of the finest assortment of lip-smacking food.
Making the event even more special was the fact that leaving a few from Nagpur most former students travelled from various cities across the country, including cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune , Ahmedabad.
There were many moments that made everyone nostalgic about their school days when student shared their memories of the school life. “We are meeting after a more than a decade,” said Depak Harishchandra who came all the way from Ahemadabad on his cruiser bike especially for this reunion bash, Sangamesh Patil sent a very special message for his batch mates through email as he could not attend personally , everyone looked quite elated to meet his/her long-lost friends. Everyone in the bash was high on the entertainment quotient.
