Ramoji Rao, media baron and the founder of Eenadu and Ramoji Film City died in Hyderabad on Saturday morning. According to news agency ANI, Ramoji died while he was undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.
He breathed his last at 3.45 am.
Following Rao’s demise, Telangana BJP chief and party MP G Kishan Reddy said he was saddened by his passing away.
“His remarkable contributions to Telugu media and journalism is commendable. My deepest condolences to his family members. Om Shanti,” he wrote on X.
Ramoji Rao, born on November 16, 1936, was a businessman, media entrepreneur, and film producer. He was the head of the Ramoji Group which included the world’s largest film production facility, Ramoji Film City, Eenadu newspaper, ETV Network of TV channels, and film production company Usha Kiran Movies.
Ramoji Rao’s other business ventures include Margadarsi Chit Fund, Dolphin Group of hotels, Kalanjali shopping mall, Priya pickles, and Mayuri Film Distributors.
