Federation of Sales and Medical Representatives Association of India has called for a One day nationwide stir which would commence in Maharashtra from 23rd August. The estimated participants in the strike amounts to 1000 from Nagpur and a total of 30,000 from Maharashtra. The number of agitators would be up to 1,50,000 strong across India. The main reason for the strike is to protest the Restriction put on them that prohibit them from working at government and BMC Hospitals and being deprived of leave facilities as per the Sales Promotion Employees Act, 1976. Also that Women Representatives were deprived of maternity leave event though hey were engaged in outdoor work.
