Nagpur: Dhantoli police have filed a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against Bhawani Prasad Mishra, Managing Director of BS Ispat Ltd, and his accountant, Sagar Ramchandra Kasangottawar. The accused have allegedly duped three investors of Rs 1.95 crore under the guise of doubling their investments within a year.
The accused have been identified as Bhawani Prasad Mishra, the MD of BS Ispat Ltd, whose office is located at Chintamani Tower in Dhantoli, and resides at Maple, 502, Wardha Road, Shankarpur, Nagpur. The accountant, Sagar Ramchandra Kasangottawar, is a resident of Flat No 125,302, third floor, Vedant Gold Telecom Co-op Housing Society, Rana Pratap Nagar.
According to the police, the complainant, Rajesh Kumar Gaya Singh, a coal businessman and owner of Abhinav Traders Company, had a good relationship with Bhawani Prasad Mishra.On April 8, 2022, Rajesh Kumar visited Mishra’s office, where Mishra and Kasangottawar discussed an investment scheme with him. They assured him that his investment would double within a year. Trusting them, Rajesh Kumar invested a total of Rs1.34 crore in the company. However, he only received Rs 47 lakh from Mishra.
Similarly, other investors including Himmatlal Agrawal and Medha Kishore Agrawal invested Rs 50 lakh and Rs 58 lakh, respectively, but did not receive any returns. The three investors were collectively defrauded of Rs 1.95 crore by the accused persons.
Dhantoli Police have registered a case under Sections 420, 406, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused duo. Further investigations are underway.
