    Mayor urged to rename Bharat Nagar Square after late Dr Shrikant Jichkar


    Nagpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party Corporator Nishant Gandhi has urged the Mayor Nanda Jichkar to rename Bharat Nagar Square after Gyanyogi late Dr Shrikant Jichkar who was also a former Maharashtra Minister.

    A delegation under Nishant Gandhi’s leadership met Jichkar recently. He said, late Dr Jichkar was youth icon and highly educated, holding several degrees including MBBS, MD, LLM, and Sanskrit. He was religious person and represented country in several countries. He was President of Vishwa Marathi Kosh. He was residing on Amravati Road in Bharat Nagar area. Dr Jichkar died on this road in atragic accident. Therefore, the local body should rename this square after him, Gandhi appealed to Mayor.
