Mayor reviews Deekshabhoomi arrangements

fsdf Nagpur News: Mayor Pravin Datke on Friday visited Deekshabhoomi and reviewed various arrangements to be made for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din to be celebrated in the first week of October. Every year, lakhs and lakhs of devotees turn up at Deekshabhoomi and Nagpur Municipal Corporation makes arrangements under the guidance of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti. This year, the NMC is making arrangements of temporary toilets, drinking water, electricity, Fire Brigade service, cleaning, lodging for lakhs of devotees and other necessary arrangements. The Mayor reviewed the arrangements and assured the Smarak Samiti that shortcomings will be removed in the coming days.

The Municipal Commissioner Shyam Wardhane who accompanied the Mayor requested the Smarak Samiti to make food arrangements at the pre-decided places so that food is not spread all over the roads. The NMC will give 24-hour service at the food distribution places for maintaining cleanliness. Moreover, Laxminagar, Dharampeth, Dhantoli Zones will supervise the NMC services and all the Assistant Commissioners of Zones will be deployed on duty, said Wardhane.

Others who accompanied the Mayor Pravin Datke include Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, former Mayor Anil Sole, Zone Chairman Gopal Bohre, Health Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare, former Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Joshi, former Mayor Sandeep Jadhav, Corporators Bandu Raut, Munna Yadav and officials of NMC. Earlier, all the dignitaries garlanded the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and took ‘darshan’ of Asthi Kalash. They also garlanded the portrait of Bhagvan Buddha and lighted candles.

Secretary of Smarak Samiti Sadanand Fulzele welcomed the Mayor by offering bouquet. Fulzele requested the Mayor to increase the number of mobile toilets and installation of CCTVs in Deekshabhoomi premises.fsd
