Mayor reviews Chhat Puja arrangements at Ambazari Lake

Chattpuja-Inspection-Mayor-Nagpur: The Mayor Pravin Datke on Tuesday personally visited Ambazari Lake premises and reviewed various arrangements being made by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for the upcoming Chhat Puja. The Mayor was accompanied by Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Zone Chairperson Varsha Thakre, several officials and office-bearers.

The Mayor Datke first sought detailed information about arrangements being made by NMC for celebration of Chhat Puja and then directed the concerned officials to ensure that the devotees are provided with all facilities and did not face any difficulty.

The NMC has made arrangements of pandal, barricading, ground leveling, lighting, drinking water supply, cleanliness etc at Ambazari as well as Futala Lake. Two mobile toilets and urinals will be constructed for the convenience of devotees thronging the two places.

The concerned officials were directed by the Mayor to erect a ‘Shamiyana’ (Pandal) at entry gate of Ambazari Lake. Similarly, NMC has been asked to make seating arrangements by arranging tables, chairs at Puja sites.

The sites would also be brightly illuminated so that the devotees are not put to any difficulties during night time. For collection of ‘Nirmalya’ and other Puja material, large Kalash and other arrangements are being made to maintain cleanliness at Chhat Puja sites. T

he Dharampeth Zone Assistant Engineer Rajesh Karade was directed by the Mayor to ensure that the necessary arrangements are in place before the start of Chhat Puja and the devotees are not put to any hardships.

Other dignitaries who were present during Mayor’s visit include Deputy Engineer K R Mishra, Zonal Health Officer D P Tembhekar, President of Bahurashtriya Chhatvrat Sanstha N K Prashad, Secretary Arvindkumar Jha, Dr Vijay Tiwari, Arun Kumar Singh, Devendra Kumar Singh, Branch Engineer Chavan and other prominent citizens.
