Nagpur: The Mayor on Thursday inaugurated the Equi-City Project, a joint venture of Akhil Bharatiya Sthanik Swarajya Sanstha and Nagpur Municipal Corporation to be implemented for the next four years. Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Nayana Gunde, Deputy Commissioner Jayant Dandegaokar, Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar, Director General of Akhil Bharatiya Sthanik Swarajya Sanstha Captain Anant Modi, Senior Executive Director Ravi Ranjan Guru and others.
At the outset, the dignitaries lit the traditional lamp to mark inauguration of the programme.
“The Equi-City Project will facilitate reaching all the welfare schemes of Nagpur Municipal Corporation at the door of citizens particularly the poor people in slums and other areas,” stated the Mayor.
Speaking on the occasion, Captain Modi said that the European Union has selected Nagpur City for developing the city on equal-footing with latest technologies. Nagpur will be first city in India to bag the honour, said Modi.
Making a presentation, Pashim Tewari highlighted various aspects of the Equi-City Project.
