Nagpur: Imambada police have booked the mastermind behind the Wednesday’s atrocious attack on a Hindi day along with four juvenile boys and 25-30 accomplices.
A mob of hoodlums, armed with Hockey sticks, stones, iron rods, lathis had on Wednesday barged into the Dainik Bhaskar office and broke all the computers (25-30 in number). The glass doors, windows, infrastructure, furniture and fixtures and other property were also broken and shattered.
The mob, apart from office property, had targeted and damaged many expensive cars, BMW, Mercedes Benz, parked in the premises. The goons, hurt allegedly by a news report carried by the Hindi daily, had collectively ransacked property worth a staggering Rs 1,27,00,000. The rampaging goons had also misbehaved with female staffers and assaulted some other employees with the lethal arms. During the attack, two laptops and two mobiles worth Rs 50,000 belonging to employees were also stolen by the mob of miscreants. Moreover, the policemen who had rushed to the spot were heckled by the vandals led by the mastermind.
Imambada API Mohankar, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Umesh Shriram Mahto (48), resident of Flat No. A-5/1, NSK Society, Ravi Nagar, Nagpur, has booked the kingpin Monty Fransis Peter (22), resident of Saint Martin Nagar, Jaripatka, Nagpur and other accused under Sections 143, 144, 147, 148, 149, 452, 353(A)(2), 395, 307, 332, 427 of the IPC and investigating the matter further.
