Another dacoity foiled in Nandanvan area, six members of gang, who were planning to strike at a jewellery shop, arrested.

In an audacious act, a gang of masked dacoits, armed with lethal weapons, stormed into a house in Sonegaon area of the city and looted valuables and other booty worth lakhs. Three members of the family were attacked and injured when they tried to resist the dacoits. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital. The dacoity was occurred in the house of Balkrishna Mogre in Pawanbhumi area.
According to details, the masked and armed gang of dacoits entered Mogre’s house, situated Plot No 176, Pawanbhumi area, coming under Sonegaon Police Station, around 2 am. The family of Mogre was asleep but was woken up rudely by the dacoits. However, three members of the family tried to resist the dacoits but were attacked with weapons and also threatened of dire consequences. Later, the masked dacoits huddled the entire Mogre family into a room and took hostage to them. Meanwhile, some members of the gang went on looting valuables and other booty for over an hour. After finishing the job, the gang left the house but not before locking it from outside. As soon as the gang of dacoits left the house, Mogre family shouted for help. Their cries were heard by the neighbours who immediately rushed to the scene and broke open the lock. First the three injured family members were taken to a private hospital for treatment and later police were informed about the incident. A team of Sonegaon police reached the spot within no time and started investigation. Cops were trying to get any clue from Mogre family about the identity of the dacoits. The cops have mounted a massive hunt to nab the gang of dacoits.

In a major success, Nandanvan police on Saturday foiled a dacoity plan when they arrested six members of a gang waiting to strike at a jewellery shop in Hiwri Nagar area. Cops have seized some arms and other stuff that were likely to be used in the dacoity.
The foiling of dacoity was alertness on the part of PSI Rajeshwar Raut and other staff of Nandanvan Police Station. The PSI Raut along with other staff was on patrol duty around 3 am on Saturday (August 29). While patrolling, the team of cops spotted the six members of the gang gathered near Mahalaxmi Jewellers in Hiwri Nagar. When confronted, the six members got panicky and could not answer the motive behind gathering at that odd hour. Upon frisking, the cops found the gang of dacoits possessing two spears, ropes, chili powder, and other tools for using them in the dacoity. All the six members of the gang were taken into custody and grilled. The arrested accused have been identified as Bhagwandas Devidas Meshram (29), Rushabh Mahesh Shahu (20), Rahul Yadavrao Yerpude (23), Akash Subhash Khandate (18), all residents of Hiwri Nagar, Tushar Bharat Meshram (19), resident of Babulvan, Lakadganj and Niraj Shankar Bhoyar (28), resident od Deshpande Layout, near Shitla Mata Mandir.
All the six accused have been arrested under Section 399 of IPC.
