Nagpur: In what could be termed as paranoia, a husband’s character assassination of his wife led to death of an innocent woman, a married woman was forced to commit suicide in Gittikhadan area.
According to police sources, the victim identified as Seema Palliwar a resident of Sai Shraddha Apartments, Rupesh Nagar, Borgaon committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan using her duppata (neck scarf) on June 2, 2015.
During investigations it came to fore that husband of the deceased wife Seema Palliwar identified as Ravi Palliwar used to cast aspersions on the character of his wife. This led to frequent quarrels and when she could not bear the mental harassment anymore she committed suicide.
On the basis of the complaint lodged by the father of the deceased Umashankar Surre a resident of Jabhalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Police Sub Inspector Bhagat of Gittikhadan Police registered a case under Section 306 of Indian Penal Code against the accused Ravi Palliwar and is investigating further.
