Nagpur: It is a known fact that when it comes to child’s admission to school, parents resort to all the possible means. Irfan Khan starrer movie Hindi Medium was based on the same theme depicting parents’pschye who, are worried about their ward’s future. The movie evoked tremendous response.
However, setting an example, a parent, whose ward was selected for admission to a reputed school under Right To Education (RTE), surrendered the same paving the way to a needy student to pursue education.
According to information, Prafull Barahate’s, son Ansh was selected through lottery 19ng010095 under RTE at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Trimurti Nagar. However, Prafull took a bold decision of not admitting his son under RTE and set an example before others. In presence of Deputy Education Officer Vijay Kokode and Chairman, RTI Action Shahid Sharif, he surrendered the admit card of his son on Wednesday. RTE Action Committee Samadhan Kendra’s Resource Person Aarti Pradhan and Verification Officers Ruzaina Beig and Deepali Ingle were also present on the occasion.
Prafull said that he took the decision looking at the condition of other parents. He was financially capable to educate his son and with his decision some other child would get an opportunity to pursue education.
His decision gives a message to the parents, who are capable to educate their wards on their own but make all efforts and at times use their influence to get admission of their child.
