Nagpur: THE NDPS squad of Crime Branch nabbed a passenger at Nagpur Airport and seized 1.5 gm of cocaine powder on Friday evening. Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths of Crime Branch lay in wait for arrival of Indigo Flight from Mumbai.
Around 6 pm, the passenger later identified as Satyaprakash alias Sarvesh Mishra (30), hailing from Mumbai, walked out and was picked-up by the cops. The cops had got specific information about Mishra’s arrival and he was on seat 28 of the flight. The frisking and body search of the man yielded only a pouch although cops were informed that Mishra would be carrying large quantity of cocaine.
From Nagpur, Mishra was supposed to travel to Hyderabad where he was to showcase the contraband material for further dealing in later stage. The city police is hopeful of extracting useful information as to drug cartel and also any points men in here with whom Mishra was in touch with.
An offence was registered against Mishra with Sonegaon police. Further probe is on.
