Nagpur: In yet another hit-and-run case, a speeding truck knocked a young man dead right in front of Mayo Hospital in the midnight of Tuesday. After the fatal accident, the truck driver fled the spot along with his vehicle and now is being searched by cops.
It could not be ascertained as to why the deceased Prashant Shrawan Bhivankar (32) of Pardi area was present on the road in front of Mayo Hospital. Around 1 am of Tuesday, the rashly driven truck hit Prashant and injured him grievously. Prashant died on the spot even before he could be administered medical help. The senseless truck driver, after the accident, fled the spot along with his vehicle. A complaint in this regard was filed by Malabai Shriram Bhivankar (58) with Tehsil police.
PSI Pande has booked the unidentified truck driver under Sections 304(A) of IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
