Nagpur: A man was killed and another injured seriously when two motorcycles and a truck got involved in a freak accident that took place on Hingna Road, MIDC, on Wednesday noon.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Dwarkaprasad Tiwari (47) of Ramnagar, Ambazari and the injured man is Madhusudan Ganesh Darkha. The freak mishap occurred when Vijay Tiwari was returning to Nagpur on his two-wheeler (MH-40/DX 3118) around 12 noon on Wednesday. As he neared a Sut Girni on Hingna Road, another motorcycle (MH-40/Z 0266) driven by Madhusudan hit his bike. As a result, both fell on the road. Incidentally, a truck (MH-40/AK 7991) coming from opposite direction ran over Vijay and Madhusudan. Vijay came directly under the wheels of the speeding truck and died on the spot. Madhusudan too was injured seriously.
MIDC WPSI Ramteke, based on a complaint, booked the truck driver Mohd Azhar Sheikh Ahmed (28) of Ismailpura, Kamptee, under Sections 304(A), 279, 338 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and reportedly arrested him.
