Man inflicted serious injuries over petty issue in Sonegaon

A man was critically injured he was attacked by two men over selling of liquor under Sonegaon. He has been admitted to a hospital where his condition is said to be critical. Sonegaon police said, the attack that took place on Sunday evening has been recorded under attempt to murder charges.

The injured Vasantrao Sudamji Ikhar (45), a resident of Plot No. 16, Jai Gurudev Nagar, Ajni was attacked by two men on Sunday evening when he had parked his two-wheeler in the parking of Vijay Raj situated at Wardha Road, Khapri. Vasantrao has sustained deep injuries in his chest and abdomen. He is under medical attention at Kothari Hospital, Dhantoli.

Police said, on Sunday, Vasantrao was on his way to a salon when the two men, one of whom is identified as Gadha, called out his name and asked him to stop. Vasantrao ignored their calls and went to salon but to his bad luck there was a large queue in salon after which Vasantrao left. While going back, the accused again called out his name and yet again they received the same treatment from Vasantrao. He parked his vehicle in Vijay Bar’s parking lot where the accused approached him. They put up a quarrel with him and demanded why he did not sell them liquor on parcel rates. The quarrel turned ugly when the two men took out a knife and stabbed Vasantrao on chest and abdomen. The accused then fled the scene. The people who witnessed the attack immediately rushed in for help and took Vasantrao to Kothari Hospital. Meanwhile, Sonegaon police was informed.

Cops reached the scene and registered Vasantrao’s statement. On the basis of his statement, cops have registered an offence under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC against the two men and started the investigations.
