A 55-year-old man was found murdered near agricultural college (Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth) near Maharajbagh on Sunday morning.The deceased has been identified as Puroshattam Raukar, a resident of Chandan Nagar.

According to the police, the body was spotted by a security guard of Maharajbagh. Victim’s hands were tied by a nylon rope and strangulation mark was found.

Police said that Raukar was employed as a security guard the Agricultural college. His family had filed a missing complaint on Saturday evening as he didn’t return home since Friday.

Police are suspecting either a robbery attempt in the college or personal dispute behind the brutal murder. Further investigations are under way.
