The trio was allegedly consuming liquor inside the stationary vehicle.

Police said that Ritik was asked to bring liquor from a nearby wine shop. At that time, accused Nayan Gedam was seated at the steering wheel, while Rahul Kurhade was sitting beside him. The vehicle engine was reportedly in running condition.

In a sudden turn of events, Rahul Kurhade’s foot allegedly hit the gear lever, causing the vehicle to move forward abruptly. Ritik, who had come in front of the vehicle, was run over and sustained critical injuries.

As the driver allegedly attempted to flee with the vehicle, bystanders intervened and stopped it. Rahul Kurhade, who was seated next to the driver, was caught by locals and handed over to the police.
