Nagpur: Sindi Railway Police and Cyber Cell of Wardha Police have arrested a man with nasty habit of creating bogus Facebook accounts and defaming women by uploading indecent messages and objectionable pictures on the social media. Cops have found images of several women hailing from Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Latur, Beed, Nanded, Gadchiroli and Wardha on the mobile phone of the lewd accused, who also used to chat in vulgar language.
The arrested accused has been identified as Machhindra Baliram Kawde (37), resident of Ishwar Nagar, Nanded.
On September 27, 2017, a woman had lodged complaint with Sindi police stating that her bogus Facebook account has been created and vulgar messages and images are being uploaded. Acting on the complaint, the Sindi Railway Police with the help of Wardha Police Cyber Cell first shut down the Facebook account and mounted a search of the accused who has been indulging in this obnoxious act since past many days and targeting many women. The accused Machhindra Kawde, even after lodging of the offence, continued to defame the complainant woman by creating his fake account and uploading the dirty messages and images.
The cops approached Facebook, WhatsApp and mobile companies and dug out vital information and continued hunt of the accused. Meanwhile, cops received inputs that the accused is based at Nanded. A police team was immediately dispatched to trace the accused Machhindra Kawde. Probing the case with all technological inputs, the cops finally nabbed the accused and brought him to Wardha. Intense interrogation revealed that the accused Machhindra Kawde used to fetch pictures of women and other information from their Facebook and WhatsApp accounts. Thereafter, he used to chat with them in indecent language. The accused also used to contact relatives and friends of the victim women and send them defamatory messages, objectionable pictures and videos. The victimised women hailed from different cities such as Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Latur, Beed, Nanded, Gadchiroli, Wardha and other cities.
The task was carried out under the guidance of DSP Nirmaladevi S and under directives of Local Crime Branch PI Parag Pote, PI Nilesh Brahmane by ASI Sanjay Devarkar, constables Jaideo Dhamia, Chandrabhan Meghre, Kuldip Tanksale, Nilesh Kattojwar, Anup Kaole, Dinesh Bothkar, Akshay Raut, Gajanan Maske and Abhijit Waghmare.
