Major Fire at Garment Shop in Nagpur’s Gandhi Bagh; Heavy Loss

Nagpur: A major fire broke out late Sunday night at a ready-made ladies garment shop in the Gandhi Bagh area of Nagpur, triggering panic in the locality.

The incident occurred at a shop located opposite Sindhi Dharamshala. According to initial information, the fire department received an alert around 10:48 PM, following which a fire engine from the Ganji Peth Fire Station (MH-31 DS-4927) was immediately dispatched. Fire personnel reached the spot by 10:53 PM and began firefighting operations.

The team, including officials Baban Jadhav, Tarde, Raza, and Rohit Jadhav, acted swiftly to control the blaze. After sustained efforts, the fire was successfully brought under control, preventing it from spreading further.

However, the fire caused extensive damage to the shop, with a large stock of ladies garments destroyed. The shop is owned by Nitish Gangadhar Nabmare (31). The exact extent of financial loss is yet to be determined.

Preliminary reports suggest that a short circuit may have caused the fire. Nearby shops were also at risk, but timely action by the fire brigade averted a bigger disaster.

A case has been registered at Tehsil Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

The incident created a brief atmosphere of fear in the Gandhi Bagh area before the situation was brought under control.
