Nagpur: Top seed Maithali Mothe emerged champion by pulling off victories against Sara Gajbhiye and Kalyani Somewar in the girls Under-16 and Under-14 categories respectively in the Rising Star tennis tournament conducted by NDHTA at MSLTA tennis centre, Ram Nagar.
In the boys under-16 and boys under-14 categories, Advait Agrawal and Anand Marathe emerged victorious beating their opponents Basant Pedapati and Sohum Jane respectively.
In the under-10 category Kashit Nagrale beat Ranveer Singh Renu to win the title.
Balbir Singh Renu was the guest of honour during the prize distribution ceremony. Dhruv Bhiwapurkar was the chief guest. Kapil Chutele along with participants and their parents were also present. The winner and runners up in under-16 and under-14 age groups received a cash prizes of `3000 and ` 2000 respectively. In the under-10 category the winner and runners up received new tennis racquets.
