Maharashtra IPS, Bureaucrats transfer racket busted

Mumbai/Nagpur: A major racket concerning transfers of IPS & Bureaucrats has been unearthed by Mumbai crime branch in a top-level operation conducted inside a 5 star hotel near airport in Mumbai on Thursday.

Four accused have been arrested by the Mumbai crime branch of which two are well-connected politically and took huge amount for transferring officers.  The operation was kept so secret that even the officer who went to conduct raid were not informed about the case.

Mumbai crime branch have arrested Kishor Mali, who is a member of one political party in Solapur. The second accused arrested is identified as Hirmokhe, who is former PA to ex-state home minister of Maharashtra. Another two accused are from Pune and Delhi.

According to sources in Mumbai police, the accused approached DCP Namdev Chavan of Solapur to make his transfer to lucrative posting. DCP Chavan informed the higher ups in the matter. The meeting for the dealing was sealed at a 5 Star Hotel to Mumbai Airport.

A team of Mumbai crime branch was made of several different units. The officers’ part of the raids was not informed about the case. They only came to know after the whole raid was conducted. DCP Chavan went inside the room and dealing started.

Outside, officers were getting live updates. Once the dealing was cracked, Chavan gave the officers outside green signals and they nabbed the accused red-handed.

According to crime branch sources, Mali is the prime accused in the matter and conducting the posting racket for very long time. The cops are investigating the case in which all ministers & officers involved & officers whose transfer are done by the accused in the past.
