Maha Govt, Singapore to set up Rs 700-crore multi-specialty hospital in Nagpur

Nagpur: In a major boost to Vidarbha’s healthcare infrastructure, the Maharashtra Government has signed an MoU with Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt Ltd and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek to establish a 350-bed multi-specialty hospital in Nagpur. The project, with a proposed investment of up to Rs 700 crore, is expected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs.

The agreement was formalised in Navi Mumbai in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow. Nagpur District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar signed the document on behalf of the state government.

While the exact location is yet to be finalised, senior officials indicated that the hospital will likely come up in the MIHAN area, positioning it as a healthcare hub for central India. The facility will offer advanced multi-specialty services, catering to both local and regional patients.

Gan Kim Yong, known for his role in strengthening Singapore’s global economic ties, emphasised that the collaboration reflects deepening India–Singapore relations in critical sectors such as healthcare. “This project will not only enhance medical services but also create employment and contribute to the region’s overall development,” he said.

Officials said the partnership underscores a shared vision to deliver world-class medical care in Nagpur, combining Indian expertise with international investment and operational standards.
